There are some amazing beauty products on the market at the moment, however they can sometimes be quite costly and for most of us splashing out $50+ on a foundation is not very realistic.
I find that while there are a number of higher end products that I love, there are also some really good quality products at an affordable price that can sometimes rival their higher end counterparts.
Because of this I have put together my recommendations for a perfect budget or beiginner makeup kit that will give you everything that you could possibly need all for just under $120, that’s including the makeup case!
Face of Australia 3 in 1 Primer with SPF15, $12.95
This is a very hydrating primer that helps lock in your makeup for the day ahead and smells amazing. It also has added SPF15 which is great to get an extra boost of this. These primers come in a number of different types which means there is something to suit everyones skin tone!
Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream $25.00
While this technically may not be a foundation, I feel like this is a good buy for an all inclusive makeup kit. The reason for this is that the 123 Perfect CC Cream can be perfect for everyday wear if you just want a light natural look, or alternatively it can be built up for a more medium coverage for a more dramatic look.
Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder $11.95
A perfect setting powder that is not too drying or cakey. The tub is also huge which means that this will last you for quite a long time. The only downside is that it does not have any coverage. If you are looking for a powder foundation that will provide some additional coverage I would recommend the Fit Me powdered foundation by Maybelline $14.95
LA Girl Pro Concealer $4.95
Arguably one of the best concealers on the market and it comes in at under $5.00. Firstly this comes in a huge range of colours which means you can pick one of these no matter what your skin tone is. It also gives very full coverage without looking cakey and is multipurpose (meaning you can use it on your face, under your eyes etc.).
NYC Sun ‘n’ Bronze Bronzing Powder $4.99
I really love these mixed use products because they can help make buying makeup really affordable. This powder is separated into a bronzer, highlight and blush which means you can use all three colours mixed together to add some warmth to your skin or you could use each separately and create a more dramatic look.
E.L.F. Baked Highlight $8.00
There are very few affordable highlighters on the market however I really like the E.L.F. baked highlighter. It is quite pigmented and adds a very nice glow to your skin. If you are looking to create a more dramatic look it can be used with a wet brush or beauty blender to intensify the pigment.
Essence All About…Roses Eyeshadow Palette, $8.20
I really feel that Essence as a brand deserves more credit, their products are extremely good quality for an unbelievably affordable price. These shadows are very creamy with a good mix of matte and shimmer shades making it really easy to create a number of different looks.
Jordana Best Lash Extreme, $5.62
This mascara is the best of both worlds, it provides definition and volume with a very striking black colour helping to make your eyes pop!
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Liner, $9.95
Waterproof, comes in a number of colours which is great if you don’t want the harshness of the black colour
Maybelline Brow Satin, $16.95
Perfect for defining and filling in your brows. One end is a pencil for a more defined and precise look while the other has a powder which is great for filling in large areas.
Essence Longlasting Lip Sticks, $4.70
Again another amazing product from this brand. These lipsticks are long lasting with a creamy matte finish which means they are not too drying however they do last longer than average. These are also so cheap that if you have a bit of extra cash you could splurge and purchase two, one for a natural everyday look and one for a more dramatic night time look.
I currently am using the Fleur De Force makeup bag because I can fit so much into it however I have seen some really cute makeup bags in Kmart that are less than $5.00
*I have chosen some products that are exclusive to Australia in this however if you are looking for something similar in your country I would highly recommend the NYX primer as well as the E.L.F. translucent powder as some alternative options.
